If a word or rule is unfamiliar, review that section and write your question down. The online portion creates a useful starting point for a conversation; your in-person session gives the instructor an opportunity to explain, demonstrate, and assess safe behavior.
The final assessment in Fast-Track Virginia CCW Training has 25 questions, with one correct answer per question. A score of 20 out of 25 meets the 80% passing requirement. Complete your own work, read the whole question, and use the review material to understand mistakes. If you fall below the passing score, return to the lessons and try again.
After passing, save your online result and follow the instructions for sending it to our team. Keep the name and booking email consistent so we can identify your enrollment. This result records your online preparation; your instructor still needs to verify successful completion of the required in-person training.
The range portion of Fast-Track Virginia CCW Training lasts approximately one hour and includes a review of the online material. Your instructor will discuss safe behavior, provide hands-on instruction, and observe your handling during the session. Students must fire at least 25 rounds under supervision while following instructor and facility directions.
Tell your instructor when something is unclear. Asking for an explanation is part of learning. The instructor determines whether you have successfully completed the in-person requirements; attendance or a round count alone does not establish completion. If you need further instruction, the team will explain the next steps. Confirm the assigned range before setting out, as appointments may take place in Fairfax or Lorton.

The minimum of 25 supervised rounds is a Trouble Defense program requirement. It is not a statewide round-count requirement under Virginia Code § 18.2-308.02. You must participate in the required instruction and demonstrate safe handling; firing 25 rounds alone does not complete the course.
Your official Trouble Defense Virginia CCW training completion certificate is issued within 24 hours after you successfully complete the in-person session and your instructor verifies completion of the program. Passing the online assessment alone does not qualify you for the training certificate.
No. It documents training completion. You must apply separately through the appropriate issuing authority and meet the applicable eligibility requirements. Permit approval and government application fees are separate from this course.
