Student help centerQuestions after class?
Find quick answers about certificates, applications, renewals, training equipment, and continued instruction.
Is my training certificate a concealed carry permit?
Your training certificate documents training. The relevant court, state police, or licensing authority decides whether to issue a permit. Follow that agency’s application process before relying on a permit.
Where do I apply after my Trouble Defense class?
Choose the state and application type in the permit guides above. Open the official issuing-agency links, check the current instructions, and use the application process that applies to you.
Are Maryland HQL and Wear & Carry the same?
They are separate credentials with separate application systems. The Maryland HQL guide directs you to HQL instructions and eMDSP. The Wear & Carry guide directs you to the MSP Licensing Portal.
Do I need fingerprints, photographs, or references?
Requirements depend on the jurisdiction, your application category, and whether you are applying initially or renewing. Check the official checklist before scheduling services.
Are government fees included in my course price?
Review your course listing. Government application fees and third-party services are separate unless your specific course expressly includes them.
What if I lost my training certificate?
Contact Trouble Defense with your name, course, and approximate class date. Our team can review the training record and explain the next step for a replacement or correction.
Does my renewal require another class?
Check your issuing authority’s current renewal requirements before booking. The answer depends on the permit, application category, and any applicable exemptions.
Can one permit be used everywhere?
Carry recognition and restrictions vary by jurisdiction. Check the official rules for every place where you intend to carry; do not assume that one permit covers every destination.
Is New York recertification the same as renewal?
New York State Police recertification and a local licensing authority’s renewal process are different. Follow the instructions that apply to the jurisdiction that issued your license.
Can I apply as a nonresident?
Some issuing authorities offer a separate nonresident application process. Open the official instructions and confirm your eligibility, accepted training, and required documents with that agency.
How long will my application take?
Processing depends on the issuing authority and your application. Save your receipt or confirmation and use the agency’s official contact or status process for updates.
Are Mantis or Viridian products required for class?
Featured products are optional unless your specific course listing states otherwise. Check manufacturer instructions and compatibility, and ask your instructor which equipment is appropriate for the class.
Do the partner links guarantee a discount?
Each partner controls its current offers, availability, membership terms, and support. Review the provider’s information before making a purchase or enrolling.
Where does Trouble Defense provide training?
Our Fairfax and Lorton, Virginia, locations provide classroom instruction and live-fire training. Review the training calendar for the location and details of your selected class.
Can I continue training after my permit class?
Yes. Explore the training calendar or private firearm training page to choose your next session. Contact our team if you need help finding a suitable class or discussing an accommodation.
