Meet the featured lineup
Four reasons we call it BIG BANG.
The BIG BANG Shooting Experience goes beyond a handgun-only visit. Explore different firearm types with your instructor supervising throughout. Your actual lineup is confirmed for your appointment.
.45 Pistol
A .45-caliber pistol brings the handgun portion of the featured experience.
What to expect
Meet the pistol with your instructor, ask questions and participate at a pace appropriate for your comfort and experience.
AR-15
Try a rifle as part of your instructor-guided recreational visit.
What to expect
No previous rifle experience is required. Your instructor introduces the selected firearm before you participate.
Shotgun
Add another kind of range experience instead of stopping at a pistol.
What to expect
The shotgun selected for your session depends on availability and host-range requirements. Ask your instructor what to expect.
Bullpup
Discover a different firearm configuration in the featured lineup.
What to expect
The exact model may vary. Your instructor will introduce it before your supervised shooting experience.

A different kind of travel memory
A fun thing to do in the Washington DC area.
Give your itinerary something beyond sightseeing. The BIG BANG Shooting Experience is hosted in Northern Virginia, near Washington DC—not at a range inside the city. See moments from previous Trouble Defense visits below.

Know before you book
Visiting from another country?
Talk with us first.
Before booking the BIG BANG Shooting Experience, international visitors should contact Trouble Defense so identification, admission-status and host-range requirements can be reviewed. A passport alone does not guarantee eligibility.
Contact us before payment about anyone under 21, language support, seating or accessibility needs. Website translation does not guarantee an instructor speaks that language. Everyone must understand the live safety instructions.
Live-fire activities involve inherent risks. Participation depends on applicable law, range policies and instructor approval. Unsafe or impaired behavior can end the session. Do not send identification scans, immigration documents, payment details or medical records through a general inquiry.
Questions, answered
BIG BANG Shooting Experience FAQs
Do I need previous shooting experience?
No. The BIG BANG Shooting Experience welcomes beginners. Your instructor provides a safety briefing and supervised live fire. You must understand and follow instructions and meet participation requirements.
Is this a good option for birthday groups?
The BIG BANG Shooting Experience can be arranged for eligible adult birthday groups seeking an activity beyond the usual celebration. Discounts are available for four or more participants. Request a quote with your headcount, preferred date and range.
Which firearms will we shoot?
The featured lineup includes a .45-caliber pistol, AR-15, shotgun and bullpup firearm. Guns are subject to change—but you’ll still have a blast! Models may vary with availability, maintenance, range requirements and instructor discretion.
Do I get both a hat and a T-shirt?
Your BIG BANG Shooting Experience includes one Trouble Defense hat OR T-shirt per participant, not both. Confirm your preference and any shirt size with the team. Designs and sizes are subject to availability.
How long should our group allow?
Plan for approximately 90 minutes and confirm the appointment length before booking. Group size, check-in and range conditions can affect timing. This is not a promise of 90 minutes of uninterrupted shooting; allow travel time too.
Is ammunition unlimited?
No. Your BIG BANG Shooting Experience includes an ammunition allowance. Confirm the exact quantity before payment. Additional ammunition may be available at a separate price, subject to range time and instructor approval.
Does the experience take place inside Washington DC?
No. We host the BIG BANG Shooting Experience at NRA Range in Fairfax or Sharpshooters in Lorton, Virginia. Choose the closer option, subject to availability. See both addresses and directions; follow the venue in your booking confirmation.
Can international visitors or younger participants join?
Contact us before booking or paying for international visitors or anyone under 21. Identification, age, supervision and host-range requirements must be reviewed. Minors need advance approval and an accompanying parent or legal guardian. Not every firearm is appropriate or available for every participant.
Can birthday groups take photos or bring decorations?
Ask your instructor about approved photo opportunities. Phones and cameras must be put away while handling or firing a firearm. Discuss decorations, food, spectators or any party-room request before booking; none of those arrangements should be assumed.
Does changing the page language include a bilingual instructor?
No. The language selector translates this page’s information and planning controls. It does not translate the video, checkout, linked pages or live instruction. Confirm language support before booking your BIG BANG Shooting Experience; understanding safety instructions is essential.
What happens if our plans change?
Review the booking conditions and Trouble Defense terms before paying. Contact the team promptly about cancellations or rescheduling. A request does not automatically approve a new date, refund or fee waiver.
