Blended Training:
The Blended Training format offers students the flexibility to complete a significant portion of their course through eLearning, preparing them for classroom and range sessions with an NRA Certified Instructor. Before the class date, you’ll receive a Course Control Code and instructions to complete the self-study segment. Virtual Learning options are also available.
Course topics cover essential areas such as firearm safety rules, the correct handling of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols, understanding ammunition and its selection, proper pistol storage and selection, shooting fundamentals, pistol inspection and maintenance, marksmanship, and range safety protocols. Upon completion, students will undergo an exam alongside live fire training and a nationally standardized shooting qualification, all under the guidance of an NRA Certified Instructor.
This course fulfills the requirements for applying for CCW permits in Virginia, Florida, Arizona, Utah, and New Hampshire. It also satisfies the Maryland HQL for Maryland Residents and the DC Gun Safety Course necessary for DC Gun Registration. In addition to in-person range time needed by some states.
Basic and Advance Pistol Shooting
NRA Basic Rifle Training: Equips students with fundamental knowledge, skills, and the right attitude for safely utilizing rifles in target shooting activities.
This comprehensive course spans at least 14 hours, blending classroom instruction with range practice in rifle shooting. Students familiarize themselves with NRA’s safety protocols, rifle components and operation, ammunition handling, shooting principles, range protocols, and various shooting positions including bench rest, prone, sitting, standing, and kneeling. Additionally, emphasis is placed on rifle maintenance and ongoing skill refinement. Students will receive essential materials such as the Basics of Rifle Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, and upon completion, a course certificate.
NRA FIRST Steps Rifle Training: Provides hands-on guidance for new firearm owners, emphasizing safety, responsibility, and proper handling.
This condensed course, lasting a minimum of three hours, offers both classroom and range instruction tailored to small classes of four or fewer students, focusing on a specific rifle action type. Participants learn NRA safety guidelines, specific rifle operation, ammunition basics, fundamental shooting techniques, rifle maintenance, and opportunities for skill advancement. Essential materials including the Basics of Rifle Shooting handbook and NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure are provided, along with a FIRST Steps Course completion certificate.
Advanced Pistol Training: Elevates proficiency in pistol handling and shooting techniques, building upon existing skills and safety knowledge.
Designed to enhance both basic and advanced shooting fundamentals, this course emphasizes safe pistol manipulation and improved marksmanship. While prior completion of NRA FIRST Step Pistol or Basic Pistol Shooting is recommended, it’s not mandatory. The training refines each student’s understanding of pistol safety, manipulation, and shooting skills, fostering a higher level of proficiency.
